Student answer (Band 4.5)
Obesity is a major problem now a days in or society. Some people think its due to the junk food like pizza or burger. The company are advertising their products that person can't control them and eat that things in return they get obese. I don't think so only eating these things cause obesity. People only eat food and went to bed without even a small walk which helps food to digest and give stomach some time to digest the food. Due to lack of exercise they are getting obese. I am not saying that eating junk food is good but you can eat them at least once in a month for your taste. People who do regular exercise have less ratio of getting obese as compared to the people just sitting on there table whole day and went to sleep at night. While some people say we eat junk food but we are not getting obese this is because of their genetic effect. But at the end eating so much junk food either you rae not getting obese you are destroying your digestive system. In my suggestion peroson should eat junk food minimum in their diet or somewhere in function. I suggest for eating fruits and green vegetables instead of junk food. Daily exercise will help you to keep fit and healthy. Junk food also contribute to fatty liver in obese person so your health should be your first priority which decide either eating junk food or not.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a relevant view that exercise and overall eating habits also affect obesity, and you offer practical suggestions such as eating fruit and vegetables. However, the task asks you to discuss both views about whether junk-food advertising contributes to obesity and should be banned. The response mainly argues that lifestyle and genetics matter; it does not explain the case for banning advertising or clearly develop the opposing view that advertising has little effect. Your position on banning is therefore not explicit, and examples such as people exercising or having genetic differences are asserted rather than supported. The response is also one word below the required minimum. To improve, state your position directly and develop each side of the advertising debate with a reason and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The ideas are generally connected to obesity, and linking phrases such as “While some people say” and “But at the end” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the response is presented as one continuous paragraph, so the discussion of causes, genetics, and advice is not clearly separated. There is also no clear progression through the two views in the prompt, and several points are repeated, particularly the emphasis on exercise and avoiding junk food. Some connections are difficult to follow, as in the shift from genetic effects to the claim about digestive health. Use separate paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and make the relationship between each claim and the next explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the general topic, including “obese,” “genetic effect,” “regular exercise,” and “digestive system.” There are also some attempts at topic-specific language, such as “fatty liver” and “green vegetables.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear: “less ratio of getting obese,” “eat that things,” and “destroying your digestive system.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “now a days,” “peroson,” and “rae” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing advertising and health, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response uses mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to join ideas using “which,” “because,” and “while.” Meaning is usually recoverable, but frequent errors in sentence structure and basic grammar make the writing difficult to read in places. For example, “The company are advertising their products that person can't control them” lacks a clear grammatical connection, while “People only eat food and went to bed” shifts tense and has an unclear subject pattern. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “junk food also contribute” and “in or society.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent verb forms before adding more complex clauses; careful sentence-by-sentence proofreading would improve clarity.
