Student answer (Band 5.0)
Obesity is a major problem across different regions. Some societies blame that junk food commercials are primarily involved in it and these adverts should be banned. While others contradict this opinion by saying that advertising does not contribute to the problem.
The main factor which is a part of that problem is junk food but not their ads. Adverts are only for the awarness of citizens. Advertisement does not directly affect the human health. Although junk food creates obesity problems but their ads should not be bannned. People got notified by ads of food. I believe that people are less aware of harms that convenient eating make. Today, there are alot of food sealers and banning advertisment means directly affecting their business.
Eating too much unhealthy is dangerous to the health as these contains alot of fat and saturated sugar. I believe that health awarness companies should be initiated which will introduce local to the harmful affects of fast food. A recent survey, describes that most of the people are eating precooked food daily like pizza, burger and sandwiches. If people are awar of the affects then they will automatically prevent eating unhealthy meals. Moreover, government should made availibility of healthy fruits to each individual. These early steps may have significant impact on the consumption of processed food. So, there is no need to ban ads as they are not affecting locals health.
To conclude, mostly people do advertising to boost their sales. But this does not mean that advertisments should be blamed for obesity. According to my prespective awarness of health concerns and daily walk benefits can positively reduce obesity problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear view that advertising should not be banned, and you offer relevant alternatives, including health-awareness campaigns and better access to fruit. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the argument for banning adverts is not really explained: you mainly state that junk food, rather than its advertising, causes obesity. The opposing view is also asserted more than supported, for example, “Advertisement does not directly affect the human health.” The survey reference is too general to provide convincing evidence, and the conclusion adds daily walking without developing it earlier. To strengthen the response, explain how advertising might influence children or encourage frequent purchases, then compare that effect with personal choice and other causes of obesity before reaching your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas such as health education and access to healthy food are grouped together, and linking expressions including “Moreover” and “To conclude” help signal movement between points. However, progression is uneven: the first body paragraph shifts from advertising’s effects to sellers’ businesses without clearly connecting these ideas, while the second moves through health risks, a survey, awareness and fruit availability. Some links are mechanical or unclear, such as “Although junk food creates obesity problems but their ads should not be bannned.” Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, and make the relationship between examples and claims explicit. Clearer referencing would also help readers follow what “these” and “their” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “saturated sugar,” “processed food,” “consumption” and “significant impact,” and you attempt to express ideas about advertising, health and business. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. For example, “food sealers” does not clearly express the intended meaning, and “eating too much unhealthy” is not a natural phrase. Spelling errors such as “awarness,” “bannned,” “advertisment” and “prespective” are noticeable. Aim to use precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully; also learn common combinations such as “raise awareness of health risks” and “access to healthy food.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex structures, including “Although…” and “If people are… then…,” and most of the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms and agreement. For instance, “Although junk food creates obesity problems but…” incorrectly combines two contrasting structures, while “government should made availibility” has an incorrect verb form. In “these contains,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “A recent survey, describes” has unnecessary punctuation between the subject and verb. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms during proofreading.
