Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people argue that fast food advertising is amajor proplem and should be blame and blocked, other people believe that the advertising dose not the main proplem and should not be bannded, althoghe the junk food is not health and facing alot of health issues, my opinion that advertising should not be pannded.

Most of people think that the advertising that the the one of the main proplem for those people eat junk food, becuse most of peopol thay dont have a commetment to be health, so some people believe that if the marketing of those comany of junk food was pannded the people will stope eating fast food any more. For example, in Jordan a study held after ban the markting of fast food on the most of offical channel that found the sales of fast food droped witch is reflect possitive on the health of people.

On the other hand, Some people argue that the advertisment should not be bandded becuase the proplem dose not contribute the proplem, but it should be make some note or warrning that the junk food is not good for health thats will make tose people intrested into health dose not eat like this kind of food, For instant, in Saudi arabia the health manistry start to add on all the adviertasing and all resturant menu the number of calories and and warrning to spread the consept of health food.

In conclusion, While the most of people think that the advertising of the fast food should be bandded, and other people believe that not the main proplem for spread the fast food, I believe that the marketing of junk food should not be banded but it should be some note that advice people to dont eat or depend on this kind of food

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your position: you oppose a ban and suggest warnings instead. The examples about Jordanian sales and calorie information in Saudi Arabia are relevant attempts to support the discussion. However, the reasoning is limited and some claims are unclear or insufficiently explained. For instance, the Jordan example says sales fell after advertising was banned, but does not explain why this proves the ban improved public health or how reliable the study is. The opposing view is also presented mainly as a claim that advertising causes people to eat junk food, with little explanation of how advertising influences choices. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and make your own position more explicit throughout, rather than relying mainly on the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help signal the main stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. The first body paragraph moves from people’s commitment to health to a ban and then to a study without clearly explaining the links. Repeated references to “the problem” and “those people” also make connections vague, while the conclusion largely repeats earlier points. Use clearer topic sentences, separate claims from examples, and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advertising,” “marketing,” “sales,” “calories,” and “health ministry,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “a major problem” misspelled as “amajor proplem,” “the advertising dose not the main proplem,” and “spread the consept of health food.” Repetition of “problem,” “people,” and “junk food” also limits precision. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases, such as “contribute to obesity,” “influence consumer choices,” and “public-health warning,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “while,” and you use paragraph-level sentences to compare viewpoints. However, control is inconsistent, and faulty sentence construction frequently makes relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “my opinion that advertising should not be banned” lacks a complete clause, while “the problem dose not contribute the problem” has an unclear grammatical relationship. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “Most of people think that the advertising that the the one…” and “the people will stope.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation before adding subordinate clauses.
