You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience·and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence. Write at least 250 words.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Obesity is one of the major problem across the world. There is an debate that advertising of junk food is the reason while others thinks it not and should not be banned. I can agree with first group of people advertising must need to be banned.

Those people who think advertising is the main are right. Now people are very commonly used social media and watching reels non stop, while they watching suddenly an ad of fast food brand is apperared and present the midnight deals, it makes people curious and hungry and then people ordered it. For instance, someone watching football live and suddenly an advertisement of kfc comes on his screen, he did not want to order it but the curiousity makes him to do it. As a result he ordered and ate it and take a step toward to become a obese. There is a group of people who oppose this view.

These people are against the ban. They are mostly the people whom are already overweight or do not care about their fitness level or physique. For example. USA has the highest number of obese people in the world. Overweight is also an clear indication of sugar and other diseases like joint pain. So that i think these advertisement must need to be banned.

In my perspective. I am going to discuss my own example that I can also fall in obese category a few time ago. The main reason for me are late night cravings and advertisement that come on my mobile screen especially at night. I can really appreciate the act if these advertisements banned globally.

In conclusion, i can really appreciate the people who wants that the adversiments need to banned related to junk food because these ads makes people hungry for unhealthy food and those who oppose it, i must say these people are careless related to their body.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear opinion in favour of banning junk-food advertising and include a personal example about late-night cravings, which makes your position identifiable. You also attempt to present the opposing view, but this side is not explained fairly or fully: describing opponents as people who “do not care about their fitness” does not show why they believe advertising should remain legal. The discussion also shifts to obesity and related diseases without clearly explaining how these points support either position. Your examples, such as the football advertisement, are relevant, but the link between seeing an advert and becoming obese is asserted rather than developed. Explain both views with balanced reasons and evidence, then make your conclusion follow from that discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can recognise its basic organisation. However, the progression between ideas is not consistently clear. For example, the paragraph beginning “These people are against the ban” moves from opponents’ views to a claim about the USA and then to health effects, without showing how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “For instance” and “As a result” help signal examples and consequences, but some connections are repetitive or unclear, and the conclusion largely repeats the opening position. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain it in sequence, and use references and transitions that make the relationship between claims explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “advertising,” “junk food,” “overweight,” “cravings” and “obese,” and the reader can generally understand your main message. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “advertising is the main,” “fall in obese category” and “take a step toward to become a obese.” Spelling errors, including “apperared,” “curiousity” and “adversiments,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise expressions and check word forms and spelling. For example, you could describe advertising as “a contributing factor” and say that someone “is at risk of obesity,” rather than relying on repeated or unclear phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences to explain causes and examples, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in phrases such as “others thinks,” “people are very commonly used social media” and “these ads makes people hungry.” Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “an debate” and “a obese,” while punctuation is inconsistent, including sentence fragments such as “For example.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
