Student answer (Band 5.5)
MANY COMMUNITIES ARGUEE THAT BEING FAT BY THE UNHEALTHY FOOD ADVERTISING AND IT SHOULD BE BANNED, OTHERS DISAGREE WITH IT AND CLAIM THAT OBESITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JUNK FOOD MARKETING AND IT NOT SHOULD BE CANCLED. IN THIS ESSAY BOTH THE VIEW WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH RELEVANT EXAMPLES AND ALSO WITH MY PERSPECTIVE.
ON THE ONE HAND, THERE ARE MANY MARKETING STRATEGIES REGARDING FAST FOOD AND PEOPLE ATTRACTS BY THIS TYPE OF FALSE ADVERTISING. INDIVIDUALS FOLLOW MANY FOOD VLOGER WHO TRYS NEW FOOD PRODUCTS AND PROMOTE IT AND THEIR FOLLOWERS ALSO GET EXITED ABOUT THE FOOD PRODUCTS. IT HAS HARMFUL EFFECT ON SOCIETY, AND YOUNG CHILDREN ALSO FACE MANY ISSUES DUE TO THIS AND GAIN WEIGHT LEADING TO HEART ATTACK AND DIABETES. FOR EXAMPLE, PRODUCT LIKE MAGGIE PROMOTE IT AS A HEALTY FOOD WHICH IS EASY TO MAKE AND TASTY, DUE TO THIS KIDS CONSUME IT SIGNIFICANLY AND SUFFER FROM OBESITY.
ON THE OTHER HAND, OTHERS ARGUEE THAT THERE IS NO CO-RELATION BETWEEN OBESITY AND ADVERTISING ABOTH UNHEALTY FOOD. ADVERTISING IS MOST CONVENIENT WAY TO REACT TOWARDS THE BUYER AND THEY HAVE RIGHTS TO ADVERTISE THEIR FOOD BUT THE CONSUMER SHOULD HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND INGRIDENTS SO, THEY CAN CHOOSE THEIR DIET ACCORDING TO THEIR BODY TYPE AND IF THEY SUFFERS FROM OBESITY THEY REDUCE IT BY WORKOUT. IN ADDINTION, MORDEN LIFESTYLE IS THE MOJOR ISSUE FOR OBESITY AND ADVERTISING CANNOT CHANGE THE DIET OF A PERSON. BECAUSE OF THIS ADVERTISING SHOULD NOT BE BANNED.
IN CONCLUSION, ADVERTISING HAVE BAD IMPACT ON OBESITY BUT PEOPLE SHOULD FOCUS ON LIFESTYLE NOT ON THE POPULAR FOOD ITEM. IN MY OPENION, ADVERTISEMENT SHOULD NOT BE BANNNED AND PEOPLE SHOULD BE AWARE ABOUT THE JUNK FOOD PRODUCTS.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the debate and state your own view: you explain that advertising can encourage children to consume unhealthy products, while arguing that lifestyle and consumer choice matter more and that advertising should not be banned. The example of instant noodles gives the first position some support, and the conclusion makes your opinion clear. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The claim that advertising has “nothing to do” with obesity is not examined in depth, and the point about modern lifestyles is asserted rather than supported with a specific explanation or example. To strengthen the response, explain how advertising influences purchasing and eating habits, then weigh this against other causes before reaching your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the main stages easy to follow, and the ideas generally progress within each paragraph. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through clear paragraphing. However, connections between individual claims are sometimes abrupt: the discussion moves from food vloggers to children’s health effects without fully explaining the link, and “Because of this” does not clearly identify which preceding point it refers to. Use more precise referencing and add brief explanations between claims so the progression feels less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “marketing strategies,” “consumer,” “ingredients,” “obesity,” and “diabetes,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the expression noticeably awkward. Examples include “people attracts,” “false advertising” where the intended meaning is unclear, “co-relation,” and “popular food item.” Repeated use of “advertising,” “food,” and “people” also restricts flexibility. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing influence and public health, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More accurate collocations would make your arguments clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Although” in effect through the contrast between the two positions, and clauses explaining consequences, such as children gaining weight and facing health problems. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “people attracts” should use a plural verb, while “advertising have bad impact” needs agreement and an article. The sentence beginning “Advertising is most convenient way” also combines several ideas in a way that is difficult to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating long sentences into clear clauses.
