Student answer (Band 6.0)
Whether to ban advertisements of junk food to control obesity or not is a widely debated issue. Both these perspectives have their pros and cons. I believe that these food should be banned and more should be replaced by more healthy options of food to promote well-being in society.
On the one hand, many people think that junk food are the main cause of obesity. Obesity is a global prob;em nowadays and it is observed that weight gain increases with the introduction of fast food in food industry. Obesity has many health hazard incluidng heart diseases and diabetis. People consuming fats food put on weight due to consumption of high calaries. Consequently, these people develop other fatal illnesses and result in high morbidity and mortality. Obesity is a big problem in many countries of the world especially developed countries such as the USA. In order to control these illnesses, experts suggest to improve healthy lifestyle and avoid junk food. Therefore many people argue to ban advertisements of junk food. Advertising junk food promotes unresistable urge to buy and consume these foods so nees an action by government to ban them.
On the other hand, some people especially form food industry suggets to adopt a healthy lifestyel with increase physical activity and exercise rather than applying restrction on adds for fast food. Moreover, these people think that fast food provides a ready made food for many individuals like foreign students and travellers who cannot cook food at home.
In conclusion, I think that disadvantages of fast food are far more than advantages. I suggest they should be consumed only in mederation in case of real necessity. In order to avoid negative consequences of junk food, governments should restrict their advertising to discourage their unnecessary purcharse and consumption.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and make your own position clear: you support restricting junk-food advertising, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The first viewpoint is supported with relevant points about calorie intake, health risks and the influence of advertising. However, some claims are broad or not fully explained, such as the link between the introduction of fast food and rising obesity. The opposing view receives less development: you mention exercise and the convenience of ready-made food for students and travellers, but do not explain why these points mean advertising should remain unrestricted. To strengthen the response, develop each side more evenly and connect examples directly to the question of whether advertising contributes to obesity and should be banned.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow, and the main position is consistent. This already provides a coherent arrangement, but some links between ideas are abrupt or repetitive. For example, the first body paragraph moves from health effects to developed countries and then to advertising without fully explaining the connections. The second viewpoint is also brief, so the discussion feels uneven. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and develop the opposing argument before returning to your position; this would make the progression more consistently logical and cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “obesity,” “advertisements,” “calories,” “physical activity,” and “morbidity and mortality,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “prob;em,” “incluidng,” “diabetis,” “unresistable,” and “purcharse.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “fats food,” “ready made food,” and “apply restriction on adds.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. A more precise range of terms for advertising, dietary habits and public-health policy would help express your ideas with greater clarity and flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures such as “Consequently, these people develop other fatal illnesses” and a relative clause in “individuals like foreign students and travellers who cannot cook food at home.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “these food should be banned” has a number-agreement problem, and “junk food are the main cause” also needs a singular verb. In “with increase physical activity,” the article and sentence pattern are incomplete. There are also awkward constructions such as “suggest to ban” and “suggest to adopt.” Review agreement, articles and verb patterns, then proofread sentences to ensure each clause is complete and natural.
