Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argued by many individuals that advertising of junk food is the major problem of obesity in socities nowadays. I partially agree with this statement because advertisement of junk food plays a vitral role in country's economy mainly in underdeveloping countries like Nepal. I agree that obesity plays a significant role for citizen suffering from obesity in socities but due to this reasons junk food should not be banned.
On the one hand, residents are very influencial nowadays because if they see any advertisement on social media or any where about any kind of junk food which looks creamy and delicious then they want to eat it and their desire towards that junk food will rise significantly and when they try that junk food for first time and if that feels tasty to them then they want to eat that funk food daily, this is the real problem of obesity. Junk food is not the major cause of obesity, over eating is the major cause of obesity. However, another main cause of obesity is lack of knowledge. For instance, companies print cheesy flavor or do healthy packaging of a junk food but reading ingredient level is the duty of citizens before eating any kind of packaged food because in ingredients level there is all the ingredents wrote in it which is used to make that junk food. If residents eat junk food once a week then it might not cause obesity but if they consume it daily then it definately cause obesity. In addition, junk food is not the major problem of obesity, over eating is the major problem of obesity. In contrast, it is true that junk food contains very low nutritions like protein, carbs, fibers but they are high in calories and unhealthy fats which is not good for human health.
On the other hand, due to this following reasons junk food should not be banned. Junk food play a significant role in country's economy specially in underdeveloping or undeveloped country's like Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc. Junk food has a very high market in the countires and companies or industries who manufacture junk foods provide billions of ruppes to the government as tax through import and export and that tax amount is used in various factors like developing tourism of a country, developing outstanding infrastructure for the country and so on. A clear example is, in my local area where I live in this place there are many stalls of junk food and individuals goes there to eat it and the stall keepers pays their tax to the government time to time due to that tax money after 4 years a new mall is established in my local area where citizens of my society can purchase all the basic and other needs lso there. Furthermore, government have to conduct a awareness programmes in socities of all the area where volunteers have to aware residents about reading ingredents level of packaged junk food so, they will be aware before over eating it.
In conclusion, it is true that junk food might cause obesity but only in case where people over eat it but if citizens are eating junk food once a week or once in two week then they will not suffer from obesity. In addition, from my prespective, lack of exercise or lack of movements is also one of the major cause of obesity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the topic and give a recognisable position: you argue that advertising can influence people, but that junk food should not be banned. You also offer relevant points about overeating, nutrition, exercise and economic effects. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the case for banning advertising is not developed as a distinct argument; the first body paragraph mainly explains individual choices and causes of obesity. Your position is also not fully consistent: you call advertising a major problem at the start, then say junk food itself is not the major cause. The economic example about tax revenue and a new mall is specific, but the link between this and allowing advertising needs clearer explanation. Develop each side directly and state your view consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. You use signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear because several points are repeated: “over eating is the major cause” appears more than once, and the conclusion repeats the weekly-consumption claim. Some linking phrases do not show the relationship accurately; for example, “In contrast” introduces further information about nutrition rather than a contrast. The first body paragraph also moves from advertising to ingredient labels and then nutrition without clearly connecting these ideas. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and use references and transitions that make the logical links explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “calories,” “unhealthy fats,” “ingredients,” “tax,” and “infrastructure,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “junk food,” “obesity,” and “major cause,” and several choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward. Examples include “vitral role,” “low nutritions,” “ingredient level,” and “underdeveloping countries”; these make parts of the argument less clear or natural. There are also spelling errors such as “socities,” “ingredents,” and “ruppes.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling and word forms. Using alternatives such as “processed food,” “nutritional value,” and “developing economies” would make the discussion more fluent and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “if they consume it daily then it definately cause obesity” and longer explanations beginning with “because.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to follow, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction affect accuracy. For example, “Junk food play” should have a singular verb, while “government have to conduct” needs a clearer subject–verb match and article use. The sentence beginning “A clear example is” becomes especially unwieldy, combining several ideas without clear boundaries. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in long sentences. Practise building shorter, controlled sentences first, then combine ideas with accurate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and articles.
