Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a personal position: you explain that advertising can encourage people to order junk food, while also noting diet and lack of exercise as causes. These points are relevant, and the examples about repeated social-media adverts and a person who exercises help illustrate them. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The argument against banning adverts is mainly about individual habits, without explaining why advertising itself may have little effect or why a ban would be inappropriate. Your own view is also not fully clear: you suggest reducing junk food and stricter advertising rules, but do not state precisely whether you support a ban. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and make your final position consistent and explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main direction of the discussion. You also use linking expressions such as “For example,” “In addition,” and “Moreover.” At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. The introduction combines background, the two positions, and your opinion in one long sequence, while the conclusion introduces stricter rules without clearly linking them to the earlier discussion. Some references, such as “these activities,” are understandable but could be more precise. Give each paragraph a clearer central point, use transitions to show contrast and cause more naturally, and ensure the conclusion directly summarises your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “obesity,” “advertising,” “diet plan,” “physical health,” and “social media.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “junk food,” “problem,” and “people.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “compleatly,” “attrect,” “calries,” and “waight,” which can make parts of the response harder to read. Some phrases are not natural in this context, for example “advertising is big to blame” and “passing healthy life.” Build a wider set of accurate collocations for causes, effects, and policy, and check spelling carefully. The vocabulary suggestions below offer practical alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “when.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, so the reader sometimes has to work to understand the intended meaning. For example, “humans are not follow diet plan” has an incorrect verb form, and “this type of food have extra calories” shows a subject–verb agreement error. In “Some individuals believe fast food advertising is a main problem create about obesity,” the clause structure is incomplete. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check verb forms and agreement before adding further detail.
