Student answer (Band 4.5)

It is argues that In some societies, obesity is regarded as a major problem. Some people believe that junk food advertising is largely to blame for this problem and should be banned , in my opinion i partly agree that junk food cause you obesity but no need to be banned casus not all people eat always junk food and somtimes people eat it when they are working .

On the one hand , junk food it can be big problem for making you fat and destroys your health completely , students in high school always eating it before going back home , they buy pizza and fries with oil and hamburgers ' this can harm their whole body and health , and they dislike eating at home the plates that usually their parents make for example , vegetables ' fruits and traditional food in general .

On the other hand , junk food effects significantly in the world and for most of people this is delecious for them and also is good somtimes for trying other kind of junk food but not eating much or it will cause you obesity and then its hard to lose weight , this is benefical somtimes try it when going somewhere or travel , taking with you easy food in the bag without cooking and wasting time just buying it in magazines

In conclusion junk food can be good somtimes and bad somtimes so for people need to guard their health and body and know what they are eating and keeping doing sport and runing is benefical for health

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a partial response to the topic and state a position—“I partly agree”—but the discussion does not fully address both views in the question. The first body paragraph explains how frequent junk-food consumption may harm health, while the second mainly describes convenience and taste; it does not clearly explain the opposing view that advertising does not contribute to obesity or why it should not be banned. Your examples about students and travel are relevant, but they are asserted rather than developed with explanation or evidence. The conclusion offers general advice about diet and exercise instead of clearly resolving the advertising question. The response is 238 words, below the 250-word minimum; the 28 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop both sides and connect your opinion directly to advertising and a ban.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the broad stages of your discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the second body paragraph moves from taste to moderation, weight loss, travel, and convenience without showing how each point supports the view about advertising. Some links are also awkward or repetitive, and the conclusion introduces sport without connecting it to the earlier discussion. To improve, give each paragraph one clear purpose, order its supporting points logically, and use linking phrases to show cause, contrast, or example rather than relying mainly on broad signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “obesity,” “junk food,” “health,” “vegetables,” and “lose weight,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “traditional food” and “wasting time.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand, including “effects significantly,” “delecious,” “benefical,” and “magazines” where the intended meaning appears to be shops. Repetition of “good,” “bad,” and “somtimes” also limits precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing advertising, consumer choice, and health, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the contrast between the two body paragraphs is clear in outline. However, grammatical control is weak: errors are frequent and sometimes obscure the intended meaning. For example, “It is argues” has an incorrect verb form, while “junk food it can be big problem” has faulty word order and is missing an article. In “students in high school always eating it,” the verb form is incomplete, and several sentences run together without reliable punctuation. The opening also shifts between “I” and “you” without a clear grammatical pattern. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” and “which.”
