Student answer (Band 6.0)
The conclusion is that in some societies, obesity is considered as a serious issue. Some people blame it on advertising of junk food while others disagree. In my opinion, advertising plays a major role in obesity.
Some people blame advertisement of fast food as a major factor leading to obesity. In their opinion if fast food is advertised online, it activitates the cravings of viewers of that ad. Some people who do not like to eat junk food often starts to eat it more. They give examples of drugs. If drugs are advertised people would take them. That is the reason governments banned advertising drugs. In their opinion same rules should be implemented for advertising fast food.
On the other hand, a large group of people think otherwise. They think advertisements of junk food has nothing to do with icreasing obesity problems. They say that if an individual loves junk food he will eat it without watching any ad. They give examples of betting. Betting is totally legal while it can be very addictive, which can drain your assets. It has destroyed any lives still governments allow it. Because ads only target those who are already involved in that activity. The give same opinion about advertisemnt of junk food.
I personally think that advertisement of junk foods play a major role in increasing obesity problems. No matter how much a person dislike junk food, if ads of junk foods go through his eyes a lot of time. He would eventually fall for it. Government should must take immediate action and pass a law to ban advertisement of junk food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state your own position clearly: you argue that advertising contributes significantly to obesity and should be banned. The two opposing arguments are relevant, including the comparison with drug advertising and the example of betting. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the claim that repeated exposure makes even people who dislike junk food “eventually fall for it” would be stronger with a brief explanation of how advertising influences choices or a concrete example. The betting comparison also needs clearer reasoning, since its legality does not directly show whether food advertising affects consumption. Develop these links and support the main claims more precisely to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a final paragraph giving your opinion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand” help distinguish the positions. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, with repeated phrases such as “In their opinion” and “They give examples.” Some references are also unclear: “The give same opinion” does not identify who “they” are, and the connection between the betting example and the claim about advertising is difficult to follow. Use more varied linking and make the relationship between each example and its point explicit. A more developed progression within paragraphs would also strengthen the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “obesity,” “cravings,” “addictive,” and “ban.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “a major factor leading to obesity.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “advertisement of fast food” and “advertising of junk food” recur, while “activitates the cravings” is not a natural expression. Spelling errors such as “icreasing” and “advertisemnt” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. A broader set of terms for advertising, eating habits, and consumer influence would help you express the argument with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including conditional sentences such as “if an individual loves junk food he will eat it” and a relative clause in “Betting is totally legal while it can be very addictive.” The main meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “Some people … often starts” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “Government should must take” combines two modal verbs incorrectly. Other sentences need clearer punctuation or structure, such as “No matter how much a person dislike junk food, if ads … a lot of time.” Practise accurate agreement, modal constructions, and complete conditional sentences while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
