Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have attempted to identify some trends, the analysis is superficial and lacks a clear overview of the data. You have focused on listing specific percentages rather than synthesizing the information to highlight key comparisons or significant shifts between 2000 and 2011. Furthermore, the interpretation of the data is occasionally inaccurate, such as misattributing the source of the exports. To improve, ensure you provide a clear summary of the main trends and group the data logically rather than listing countries individually.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphing is inconsistent, and the flow of ideas is disjointed. You rely on basic transition words like 'also' and 'secondly' to connect sentences, which makes the writing feel mechanical. There is no clear progression of ideas; the transition between the two years and the two destination countries is abrupt. To improve, use more sophisticated cohesive devices to link your points and ensure each paragraph has a clear focus, such as one paragraph for the year 2000 and another for the changes observed by 2011.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'demand' and 'goods'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'takeover from india' and 'expanded till 10%', which do not accurately describe the data. You need to incorporate a wider range of vocabulary related to trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'accounted for', or 'experienced a significant rise'. Improving your range of descriptive language will help you convey the data more precisely and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include incorrect preposition usage ('in india' instead of 'to India'), subject-verb agreement errors ('export's of goods at 2011 india'), and awkward sentence construction. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, as most sentences are simple or contain errors when attempting to combine ideas. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes and commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
