Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 82 words. Consequently, the response is significantly underdeveloped. While you have identified some main features, such as Germany's consistent performance in China and the shift in leadership for India, the analysis is far too brief. You have not provided sufficient detail or data comparisons to fully address the task. To improve, you must expand your description by including more specific data points from the charts and providing a more comprehensive overview of the trends observed across both years and both destinations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into two short paragraphs, which is a basic structure. There is a clear attempt at an introduction and an overview. However, due to the extreme brevity of the text, there is very little opportunity to demonstrate a range of cohesive devices. The transition between the introduction and the overview is functional, but the overall flow is limited by the lack of content. To achieve a higher score, you need to write a more substantial response that allows for the logical sequencing of ideas and the use of a wider variety of linking words and phrases.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the task, with terms like 'illustrate', 'exports', and 'consistently'. However, the range is quite limited due to the short length of the response. There are some minor errors, such as 'the China' (which should be 'China') and 'the Germany' (which should be 'Germany'). To improve, you should aim to use a wider variety of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'accounted for', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable', and ensure that articles are used correctly with country names.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some slightly more complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'in year 2000' (missing 'the'), 'the China' (incorrect article), and 'pie chat' (spelling error). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent relative to the short length of the text. To improve, focus on mastering the use of articles with geographical names and ensure that your sentence structures are grammatically sound. Practicing longer, more complex sentences will also help you demonstrate a better range of grammatical control.
