Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the pie charts, identifying key trends and making comparisons between the two years and the two destinations. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you mention specific percentages, the report lacks a clear synthesis of the data. For instance, the 'many others' category is mentioned repeatedly without explaining its significance or how it relates to the overall export market. To reach a higher band, you should focus on grouping data more effectively and highlighting the most significant shifts (e.g., the dramatic increase in Germany's share of exports to China) rather than simply listing figures for each country.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs focusing on India and China respectively. Cohesive devices such as 'while', 'on the other hand', and 'in addition' are used, though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of the body paragraphs could be improved by avoiding repetitive sentence patterns. The use of referencing is generally accurate, though the flow between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother to better connect the summary to the specific data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the necessary information clearly. You use terms like 'proportion', 'exports', and 'responsible for' appropriately. However, the range is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'many others' and 'mainly from' are used multiple times, which restricts the sophistication of the response. To improve, try to incorporate more varied reporting verbs and nouns related to statistical trends, such as 'accounted for', 'constituted', 'a significant rise', or 'a marginal decline', to demonstrate a wider lexical range and better precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is consistently clear, there are several grammatical slips. For example, 'the EU exports of good to India' should be 'goods', and 'UK that is more than one quarter' is awkward phrasing. Additionally, there are minor issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Germany which is one quarter'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on consistent verb tense usage and refining complex sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
