Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the charts, but the analysis is inconsistent and lacks precision. While you identify some key figures, such as Germany's 38% in 2000, the description of the 2011 data is confusing and inaccurate. For instance, stating 'the export rate increased in India with china Germany which is 48%' is unclear and fails to accurately reflect the data provided in the charts. Furthermore, the comparison between the two years is underdeveloped. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the two countries and the two years, and avoid vague statements. You need to provide a more accurate summary of the data trends rather than just listing isolated figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is weak. The transition between the 2000 data and the 2011 data is abrupt, and the final paragraph is very brief and does not effectively synthesise the information. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'Now in 2011' or 'These are the major difference found'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow which country or year is being discussed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'export' and 'exchange' in ways that are not always collocationally correct, such as 'highest exchange of goods to india'. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'import of in both countries' when you are discussing exports. The range of vocabulary is sufficient for basic communication but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band score. To improve, try to use a wider range of synonyms for 'increase', 'decrease', and 'proportion', and focus on using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'India does only 15%'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'the export rate increased in India with china Germany'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalisation of country names like 'china' and 'sweden'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors and ensuring subject-verb consistency.
