Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and comparing the data for India and China. However, the overview is slightly weak; it focuses on specific countries rather than highlighting the most significant trends or shifts in the data. While the report includes data for most countries, the presentation is somewhat list-like, focusing on individual data points rather than synthesising the information into clear trends. To reach a higher band, you should group the data more effectively to highlight the most prominent changes, such as the significant growth in Germany's exports to China versus the decline in UK exports to India.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into logical paragraphs, with one for the introduction/overview, one for India, and one for China. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In detail', 'Moreover', and 'Whereas', but some are used mechanically or slightly inaccurately (e.g., 'although' at the start of a sentence). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing is occasionally confusing, particularly when discussing multiple countries in a single sentence. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'allocation', 'inclined', and 'proportion'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'spotted similar' instead of 'remained stable' and 'slowed down its shipping' instead of 'experienced a decline in exports'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and there are minor errors in word form, such as 'rose its exported goods' (should be 'increased its exports'). Expanding your range of reporting verbs and noun phrases would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('UK and Sweden decreased its percentage' should be 'their percentage') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters for countries like 'united kingdom' and 'country' appearing in lowercase mid-sentence. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and capitalization will significantly improve your accuracy.
