Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but struggles with accuracy and clarity. While it identifies some key features, the interpretation of the data is often confusing or factually incorrect based on the provided charts. For instance, the claim that exports 'significantly rise' in Germany is not clearly supported by the data, and the description of percentages is often muddled. The response lacks a clear overview of the main trends, and the comparisons made between countries are difficult to follow. To improve, focus on identifying the most significant changes and clearly contrasting the two years, ensuring that the data cited accurately reflects the visual information provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the misuse of 'however' and 'while' to connect unrelated or contradictory points. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between countries and years. The flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, which hinders the overall coherence of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'percentage', 'goods', and 'export'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the data measures in percentage' instead of 'the data is measured in percentages' and 'significantly rise' instead of 'significantly rose'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more varied reporting verbs and nouns related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'accounted for', 'proportion', and 'marginal'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'india and china have the larger number'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures. Punctuation is also problematic, with spaces placed before commas and periods. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. A focus on basic sentence construction, correct tense usage for past data, and proper punctuation would significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
