Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the data, but the analysis is hindered by significant inaccuracies in data interpretation. For instance, you state that 'Belgium witnessed the maximum exports' to India, whereas the charts show the UK was the highest in 2000 and Germany in 2011. Furthermore, you mention 'Australis' (likely a typo for Australia) as having 1% in India, but the data provided does not support these specific figures for all countries listed. While you attempt to make comparisons, the lack of precision in reporting the data points means the task is only partially addressed. To improve, ensure you carefully cross-reference the labels and percentages before writing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical and sometimes misused. Phrases like 'after that' and 'then it suddenly increased' are repetitive and lack the sophistication required for higher bands. The progression of ideas is sometimes unclear because the data reporting is inconsistent. While there is an attempt to group information by country and year, the transitions between sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use the phrase 'exports of good' or 'exports of goods' throughout the text, which becomes monotonous. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'remained same exports' instead of 'exports remained stable' or 'remained at the same level'. The use of 'maximum' and 'minimum' is also slightly unnatural in this context; 'highest' and 'lowest' would be more appropriate. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of synonyms and more precise collocations related to describing trends and statistical data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Germany was highest exports') and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'that was around 29%, after that in 2011, it decreased by 13%'). The use of articles is inconsistent, and there are several instances of missing prepositions or incorrect word order. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring correct verb forms will help improve your accuracy. You should also proofread to catch simple errors like 'Australis' and 'in both the year'.
