Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the pie charts, identifying key trends and making relevant comparisons. However, the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the statement that 'Germany exported from 38% to 48% to China' is not clearly supported by the data provided in the charts, and some descriptions of trends are inaccurate or confusing, such as the claim that 'India seen a sharp rise for exporting goods by Germany'. While the overall summary is present, the lack of precision in reporting the data points limits the effectiveness of the response. To improve, ensure that the data cited directly matches the visual information provided in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'However', and 'Overall'. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when discussing multiple countries at once. The flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical connection between the data points and the conclusions drawn could be strengthened. Improved use of linking words and clearer grouping of information would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'India seen a sharp rise' instead of 'India saw' or 'India experienced', and 'exported from 38% to 48%'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'accounted for', 'constituted', or 'fluctuated', and ensure correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The given pie charts depicts', 'other countries has doubled'), tense inconsistencies ('India seen a sharp rise'), and missing articles or prepositions ('can seen by Austria'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and verb tenses, will significantly improve your score.
