However, by 2011 Germany had become the leading exporter, with its share rising to 25%, while Belgium declined slightly to 20%. In contrast, the United Kingdom’s contribution fell sharply to 13%. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered all parts of the task by comparing the exports to India and China across the two years. The data is accurately reported, and you have made relevant comparisons, such as noting the shift in leadership for India and the dominance of Germany for China. To reach a higher band, ensure that your overview is more distinct from the body paragraphs and avoid minor factual inconsistencies, such as the claim that Belgium led in 2011 for India, when your own data shows Germany at 25% and Belgium at 20%.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. You use paragraphing effectively to separate the data for India and China. Cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Moving further', and 'By comparison' are used appropriately to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the opening sentence is a bit clunky. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a Band 7.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'accounting for', 'declined slightly', and 'increased substantially' are used effectively. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'leaded' (should be 'led') and 'The provided of pie charts' (should be 'The provided pie charts'). While you use some less common vocabulary, there is room for more sophisticated collocations to elevate the response. The vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'The provided of pie charts' and 'Belgium leaded in last one'. Additionally, the phrase 'At the fleeting glance' is slightly unnatural. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede the reader's understanding of the data. To achieve a higher score, focus on eliminating these minor errors and increasing the variety of complex structures used to describe trends.
