Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully address the task. The summary is incomplete, as the text ends abruptly at 'At third'. Furthermore, the description of the data is fragmented and lacks a clear overview or a logical selection of key features. The comparisons are superficial and often confusing, such as the unclear reference to 'second number' or 'different kind of ratio'. To improve, you must ensure you provide a clear overview of the main trends and complete the full analysis of the data provided in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The response lacks a logical structure. The paragraphs are poorly defined, and the abrupt ending suggests a lack of planning. Cohesive devices are used ineffectively or incorrectly, such as 'After ward' and 'Instead of UK', which do not help the flow of information. The transition between the description of the first pie chart and the second is disjointed. To improve, focus on using clear paragraphing—one for the introduction/overview and one or two for the detailed body paragraphs—and use linking words like 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', or 'Meanwhile' to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which hinders the clarity of the report. Phrases like 'It is advert that' (likely meaning 'evident') and 'different kind of ratio' are imprecise and unnatural. There is also a lack of variety in reporting verbs and data-related terminology. You should aim to use more precise vocabulary for describing trends, such as 'accounted for', 'represented', 'experienced a rise', or 'remained the lowest'. The repetition of basic terms like 'percentage' and 'proportion' also limits the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('Belgium is on second number which have 25 %'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction ('The UK rose at the 29% mean while'). The sentence structures are mostly simple and often incomplete. To improve, practice basic sentence formation and pay close attention to verb tenses and articles. Ensure that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and avoid fragments like 'At third'.
