Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features and provided relevant comparisons between the two years. You covered both India and China and highlighted key shifts, such as the change in Germany's export share. However, the response lacks precision in data reporting. For example, stating 'all other countries remained as it was' is vague and does not accurately reflect the data provided in the charts. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are supported by specific, accurate figures rather than general statements. The overview is present but could be more clearly integrated to highlight the most significant trends across the decade.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'While', 'Additionally', and 'In contrast' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward, such as starting sentences with 'While' repeatedly. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when discussing the 'other countries' category. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrate', 'percentage', and 'major nations'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'getting goods was UK' instead of 'the main exporters were the UK' and 'reduced a lot export'. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'all other nation' instead of 'all other nations'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations related to data description and ensure consistent use of plural forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('all other countries remained with very few import'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction ('India in 2000 saw three major nations for getting goods was UK'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit your score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure.
