Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the data provided in the pie charts but fails to provide a clear overview or identify the main trends. The information is presented as a repetitive list of figures for each country, which makes it difficult to identify key comparisons or significant changes over time. The response is also incomplete, as it cuts off abruptly while discussing the second chart. To improve, you should group countries by their performance (e.g., those with the highest and lowest exports) and highlight the most significant shifts between 2000 and 2011 rather than listing every individual percentage point.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a logical structure. While there are paragraph breaks, the content within them is disorganized and repetitive. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'whereas' and 'meanwhile' to link simple clauses. There is no clear progression of ideas, and the abrupt ending significantly disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as comparing the two years or contrasting the two destinations.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You frequently use the same words, such as 'count', 'ratio', and 'percentage', to describe the data. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'aataria' (likely Austria), 'neitherland' (Netherlands), and 'china' (should be capitalized). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. You should aim to use a broader range of reporting verbs and nouns, such as 'accounted for', 'constituted', 'proportion', and 'figure', to avoid monotony.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'exports of india'), and run-on sentences. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with little evidence of complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters for proper nouns like 'India', 'China', and 'Belgium'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for capitalization and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures.
