The pie charts below show exports from various EU countries to India and China in 2000 and 2011.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The provided pie charts compare the proportions of exported goods from different Europeon countries to India and Cina from 2000 to 2011.

Overall, United Kingdom recorded the highest proportion of exporting goods to India during the initial period . However, Germany was by far the largest exporter for both India and China throughout the rest of the period. On the other hand, Austria represented a very negligible portion of charts demonstrating the least proportion of exports to each country. The percentages for other countries varied significantly all over the period.

In Case of India, UK shared the largest proportion of exported products to India, which dropped to 13% in 2011. It was followed closely by Belgium at 25% in 2000 which declined to 20% in 2011. The proportion for Germany rose considerably by 10% in almost a decade while France, Spain, Netherlands and Sweden recorded an increase of only 1% over the 11-year interval. Austria represented only a minicule proportion only at 1% and 2% in 2000 and 2011.

For China, Germany was the largest contributor of exports occupying a substantial portion of chart at 38% and 48% in 2000 and 2011 respectively. France trailed Germany at 13% in 2000 to 10% in 2011. The figures for Belgium and Austria were same for both the years at 5% and 2% each. Netherlands and Spain both recorded a 1% in the exports to China. In addition, United Kingdom saw a 2% decline in their exports, from 9% in 2000 to 7% in 2011.
