The pie charts illustrate the proportions of goods exported from the EU to India and China in 2000 and 2011.

Overall, Germany and the United Kingdom were the largest exporters to India in 2000, while Germany became the dominant exporter in 2011. Similarly, Germany accounted for by far the largest proportion of EU exports to China in both years.

In 2000, the United Kingdom was the largest exporter to India, accounting for 29% of total exports, followed by Belgium at 25%. Germany represented 15%, while France and Italy accounted for 8% and 7%, respectively. The remaining countries each contributed relatively small proportions, with Austria being the smallest at just 1%.

By 2011, the pattern had changed considerably. Germany became the biggest exporter to India, rising from 15% to 25%, while the UK's share fell sharply from 29% to 13%. Belgium also declined slightly to 20%. France and Italy increased to 9% each, while the proportions for Austria, Sweden and Spain also rose modestly.

Regarding exports to China, Germany dominated in both years, increasing from 38% in 2000 to 48% in 2011. France was the second-largest exporter in 2000 at 13%, but its share decreased to 10% in 2011. Most of the other countries accounted for less than 10% each. Overall, Germany's position in exports to China became even stronger over the period.
