EU Exports of Goods to India and China in 2000 and 2011
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The four pie charts show the exports from various EU countries to India and China in 2000 and 2011.
Overall, if we see Germany is the main country that exports the most in the EU, and the minimum is Austria. I'm looking at the chart, and I can see that from 2000 to 2011, EU countries' exports to India are getting lower and lower. If I compare it to China It's getting higher. Germany is the country that exports the most to China; if I compare it to 2000 to 2011. United Kingdom is also in my eyes that exports from 2000 to 2011 of UK in getting lower to these two countries.
Lastly, on the other hand, the conclusion is that countries like India and China are the largest in Asia and their economies are getting stronger. They are having their more people to work on their Goods to try not to import more from EU countries. India does not import more from Asia region that one is the point to export goods from EU countries.
After that, if I talk about China, China has to much population and now trying to make their good by themselves, but Germany is the country from which China imports the most.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to adequately report the main features of the data. Instead of providing a clear summary of the trends and comparisons, the writing is overly subjective and includes personal commentary, such as 'I'm looking at the chart' and 'in my eyes'. The analysis of the data is inaccurate and lacks specific figures to support the claims. Furthermore, the response includes irrelevant external information about economic theories and population, which is not present in the charts. To improve, focus strictly on the data provided, use specific percentages or values to support your observations, and avoid personal opinions or external knowledge.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks a logical structure. While there are paragraphs, the progression of ideas is disjointed and confusing. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often misused, such as 'After that' and 'Lastly, on the other hand', which do not fit the context of a data report. The referencing is also unclear; for example, the phrase 'that one is the point' is vague and does not link back to a specific idea. To improve, use clear topic sentences for each paragraph and employ a wider range of linking words like 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', or 'Conversely' to connect your points logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, relying on simple phrases like 'getting lower and lower' and 'getting higher'. There is a lack of precise terminology required for describing data, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'accounted for', or 'proportion'. Some word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'their good' instead of 'their goods' and 'too much population' instead of 'a large population'. To achieve a higher band, you should learn and apply topic-specific vocabulary related to trends and proportions, and avoid informal, conversational language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('Germany is the main country that exports... and the minimum is Austria'), incorrect sentence structures, and awkward phrasing ('They are having their more people to work on their Goods'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some errors in punctuation and article usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
