Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you have identified some main features, such as the dominance of the UK in 2000 and Germany in 2011, the analysis is incomplete. Several data points are missing, and the comparison between the two years is underdeveloped. To improve, ensure you cover all categories in the charts and provide a more comprehensive overview of the trends. The inclusion of 'Australia' is an error, as it is not an EU country, suggesting a lack of careful data interpretation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphs are poorly defined, and the progression of ideas is disjointed. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'While' and 'In terms of', they are often used incorrectly or in a repetitive manner. The transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt. To improve, use clear paragraphing: one for the introduction/overview and two for the body, ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus. Use a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'stood at peak', 'most biggest', and 'more least' are either grammatically incorrect or unnatural. There is a lack of precise terminology for describing data trends (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'accounted for'). Spelling errors such as 'sequencely', 'Overll', and 'reagards' further detract from the quality of the writing. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations related to data reporting and ensure you use precise adjectives and adverbs to describe changes in percentages.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with article usage ('the most biggest'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction ('Below given four pie charts...'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which are necessary for higher band scores. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns before attempting more complex ones, and pay close attention to punctuation and capitalization, especially for proper nouns like 'India' and 'China'.
