Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by identifying key trends and making comparisons between the two years. You successfully highlight the dominance of Germany in both markets and note the shifts in other countries' shares. However, the report lacks a clear, cohesive overview of the data. While you mention that Germany was the dominant seller, the summary could be improved by explicitly contrasting the overall growth in China with the more fragmented market in India. Some data points are slightly imprecise, such as referring to 'total half of exports' which is awkward phrasing. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are clearly linked to the specific years and categories provided in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Meanwhile', 'by contrast', and 'nonetheless' to connect ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'most of them fall down'. The transition between the discussion of China and India is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through the data analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'dominant', 'downward trend', and 'surged'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'became with the most share', 'more abundant approximately to', and 'total half of exports'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your report. To improve, focus on learning common collocations used in data description, such as 'accounted for', 'experienced a decline', or 'held the largest share'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('The pie charts illustrates'), incorrect preposition usage ('seller with China'), and awkward phrasing ('became with the most share'). While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical trends. Proofreading for these specific types of errors before finishing would be highly beneficial.
