Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the pie charts regarding EU exports to India and China in 2000 and 2011. However, there are significant misinterpretations of the visual data. The student mislabels the charts as 'transport between different EU countries' instead of 'Exports of Goods', and states that exports to India 'transpoted the huge parts proportion of goods in the UK while the minimum percentage export in Austria', which confuses country shares with export volumes. While some individual figures are mentioned, such as the UK dropping from 29% to 13% for India, the overall summary lacks clarity and fails to adequately present a clear overview of the main trends. Therefore, it falls under Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow and progression are heavily disrupted by awkward phrasing and confusing transitions. For instance, the transition 'Turning back to the China started export...' is abrupt and grammatically disjointed. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, and referencing between ideas is frequently unclear. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical links within paragraphs are weak, resulting in a score of 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very limited and contains frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'transpoted' instead of 'exported', 'parts proportion', and 'increased amount'. Spelling mistakes like 'illustratres', 'transpoted', and 'Autria' are present. The student struggles to use precise vocabulary relevant to graph descriptions, which restricts the lexical score to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on general adequacy for basic communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, with frequent grammatical errors that impede comprehension. Examples include 'The pie charts illustratres the information about transport...', 'India started export in the UK', and 'Finland werw about at 6%'. Tense usage and prepositions are frequently mishandled. Because errors are persistent and often distort the intended meaning, the grammar warrants a band score of 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
