Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count of 150 words, reaching only 91 words. Consequently, the information is severely under-developed. While the writer attempts an overview and mentions some data points (e.g., 'Belgium, United Kingdom and Germany holds the highest proportion'), key comparisons between India and China are missing, and some statements are factually incorrect or unclear, such as claiming Germany covers half of the chart in 2000 for exports to China when it was actually 38% (with 48% in 2011). The summary is too fragmented and incomplete to address all parts of the task adequately. Band score: 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response is divided into very short, disjointed paragraphs and lacks clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are minimal and mechanical. For instance, the transition 'While Germany covers approximately half of the chart in 2000(Exports to China)' is grammatically incomplete and interrupts the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is inappropriate, with single-sentence paragraphs used instead of a structured overview and body paragraphs. Referencing is sometimes confusing, and logical sequencing between sentences is weak. Band score: 4.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is very basic and repetitive, utilizing simple terms like 'proportions', 'exports', and 'highest proportion'. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as spelling 'countries' as 'contries' and capitalizing 'india', 'sweden', 'spain', and 'austria'. The phrase 'in little amount than all other countries' is unnatural and inaccurate. The vocabulary is just about adequate to convey the basic topic, but fails to demonstrate flexibility or precision. Band score: 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures attempted are very simple, with several basic errors. Subject-verb agreement is flawed in sentences such as 'Belgium, United Kingdom and Germany holds', where a plural verb is required. Punctuation and capitalization rules are frequently ignored, as seen with 'india', 'sweden', and 'austria'. The response contains a very limited range of complex structures, and frequent errors in basic sentence construction cause some difficulty for the reader. Band score: 4.5.
