Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both destinations and both years, and your overview identifies the key contrast: India’s exports are more widely distributed, while China’s are dominated by Germany. You also report several important changes accurately, including Germany’s rise in China from 38% to 48% and the UK’s fall in India from 29% to 13%. This is a relevant, well-supported response, though some details are less fully or accurately handled. For example, France’s share of India’s exports rises from 8% to 9%, rather than remaining stable, and the 2011 China paragraph says Finland declined without giving its actual fall from 6% to 2%. A more precise overview and careful checking of smaller changes would strengthen the report further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for India and China. This makes the main comparisons easy to locate, and transitions such as “In Contrast” and “In terms of china” help signal shifts. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The repeated “Moreover” does not always show a meaningful relationship, and the long India paragraph for 2011 combines several changes without a clear grouping. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also interrupt the flow, as in “25%.and the share” and “In 2011 Germany substantially increased to 48%, France share drops…” Grouping the largest changes first, then the smaller ones, and using clearer linking phrases would improve progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of chart vocabulary, including “share,” “major exporter,” “distribution,” “decline,” and “increased,” so the main information is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “overwhelmingly” and “substantially.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “international sales” is less precise than “exports,” “share roses up” is incorrect, and “a little bit improvement has saw” is not idiomatic. Spelling and form errors such as “less then” and “faces decline” also reduce precision. Aim for consistent, accurate reporting verbs and collocations, for example “accounted for,” “rose to,” and “experienced a decline.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “while” and “followed by,” but control is uneven. Agreement and verb-form errors appear in examples such as “the pie charts illustrates,” “Germany, Belgium and united kingdom was,” and “a little bit improvement has saw.” Articles and sentence construction also need attention: “china major exporter were Germany” and “France share drops up to 10%” are not grammatically well formed. Punctuation frequently creates run-ons or fragments, particularly where full stops are followed immediately by lowercase clauses. These errors sometimes make relationships between figures harder to follow. Practise building complete comparison sentences with accurate subjects and verbs, and check each sentence for agreement, tense, and punctuation.
