Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main pattern that Germany led exports to China in both years and became the largest exporter to India by 2011, while the UK’s share to India fell sharply. Several figures are accurately reported, including Germany’s rise in China from 38% to 48% and the UK’s fall to 13%. However, some details are inaccurate or incomplete: Austria, not the only country, had the lowest share to China in 2000 (2%, shared with Spain), and in 2011 Austria, Finland and Sweden were all at 2%. The claim that most other countries’ exports to China declined overlooks increases for the Netherlands, Spain and “Other.” The overview is relevant, but fuller, more precise comparisons would strengthen coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for India and China. This makes the main comparisons easy to follow, and transitions such as “However,” “In contrast” and “When considering” help signal shifts. The progression is generally logical, though some linking is mechanical and a few references are unclear. For example, “At the same time, other countries didn’t show significant improvement or decline” is broad and does not specify which countries or changes; several shares changed noticeably. The China paragraph also moves quickly from Germany to the lowest figure and then to a general trend. Grouping key increases and decreases more explicitly would make the comparisons more cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of chart vocabulary, including “highest proportion,” “dropped,” “massive drop” and “decline,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “exports goods,” “take the first place in export industry,” and “limited to 13%.” “Export industry” does not accurately describe a country’s share of the chart, and “limited” suggests restriction rather than a decrease. Spelling errors, including “china,” “Kindom,” “cosidering” and “Autria,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases such as “accounted for,” “share of EU exports,” and “fell to,” and check country names and capitalisation carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including contrast clauses such as “However, it took over by Germany in 2011” and “Moreover, Except Netherlands and France…”. Some sentence patterns communicate the comparisons clearly, but errors in verb forms, articles and sentence construction remain. For example, “the highest percentage of goods exported from Germany” needs a finite verb (“Germany accounted for the highest percentage”), while “it took over by Germany” has an incorrect passive construction. “The least proportion of goods were exported” also has subject–verb agreement trouble, and “reached to 48%” uses an unnecessary preposition. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but more consistent control of complete clauses and grammatical patterns is needed.
