Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main contrast: the UK has the largest share of exports to India in 2000, while Germany leads in China in both years. However, the overview is partly inaccurate: Germany does not become the leading exporter to India in 2011; it reaches 25%, while Belgium remains the largest at 20%? Actually Germany is the largest at 25%, so this point is correct, but the wording should make the comparison explicit. Several figures are assigned to 2001 rather than 2011, and the China figures are repeated as “2001 and 2001.” The response also omits important changes, such as the UK’s fall in India and Germany’s rise in China, and gives little comparison across the charts. It is 8 words below the required minimum. Add accurate, selected comparisons and a clearer overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, with an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs beginning “Looking in to the figure” and “Turning towards the figure.” This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, the progression is limited: the two detail paragraphs repeat the same pattern and do not clearly distinguish India from China or 2000 from 2011. The repeated transition “figure of pie charts” is mechanical, and “On the other hand” does not clearly connect the contrast that follows. Some references, such as “in earlier year,” are vague. Group the information by destination, compare the two years within each group, and use precise linking phrases such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “exports,” “goods,” “products,” and “highest,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are unnatural or imprecise: “trades the highest goods” and “sales is done” do not describe export shares naturally, while “high amount” is unsuitable for percentages. Spelling errors such as “betwwen,” “bbecomes,” and “Ausria” also reduce accuracy. Prefer standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “share,” “exported,” and “the smallest proportion.” Avoid repeating “figure of pie charts”; use “the charts” or name the destination. More precise vocabulary would make the comparisons clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of sentence forms, including an overview with a contrast and longer sentences introduced by “Looking” and “Turning.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “United kingdom trades the highest goods to India in first year” has problems with article use, tense, and sentence construction; “Germany exports 38% and 48% in 2001 and 2001” also lacks a clear grammatical link between the figures and the destination. The repeated use of “in 2001” instead of “in 2011” further obscures the time comparison. Practise concise patterns such as “Germany’s share rose from 38% in 2000 to 48% in 2011,” and check articles, verb forms, and punctuation when editing.
