Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today many children around the world go to school where boys and girls study together. However, some people belive that it is better for boys and girls to study in seprate schools. I completely disagree with this opinion because studying together helps children develop social skills and prepares them for adult life.
First of all, mixed schools help boys and girls learn how to communicate with each other. when they sit in the same classroom and work on group projects. they learn to understand different points of view. they discover how to share ideas and respect eachother. If they are separated, they might feel nervous or awkward when they have to talk to the opposite gender later in life. For example, a student from a single sex school might find it difficult to talk to classmates of the opposite gender when they start university.
Secondly, co-educational school prepare students for the real world. In adult life society is not divided by gender. Men and women must work together in offices, shops in the same markets and live in same communities. By studying together from a young age, boys and girls learn how to cooperate nd treat each other as equal. This exprience build team work skills that are highly valuable for their future careers.
In conclusion, while single-sex schools might reduce distracted for smoestudent. I belive that mixed schools are a much better choices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely disagree with single-sex education, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—social communication and preparation for adult life. The university example helps illustrate the first point. However, the discussion is brief and some claims remain general; for instance, the point that mixed schooling builds career teamwork skills is asserted rather than supported with a specific explanation or example. The conclusion also introduces the idea that single-sex schools reduce distraction without explaining it. The response is 16 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasoning. Extend the supporting ideas and address the opposing view more clearly to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two reason-based body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Within the first body paragraph, the ideas move logically from communication to understanding different viewpoints and then to a university example. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and punctuation disrupts the flow: “when they sit in the same classroom and work on group projects. they learn…” is incorrectly divided into separate sentences. The second paragraph also moves quickly through several examples of adult life without linking or developing them. Use complete sentence boundaries and clearer links between each claim and its supporting detail.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “social skills,” “group projects,” “opposite gender,” “cooperate,” and “team work skills.” These choices show awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “belive,” “seprate,” “eachother,” and “distracted for smoestudent.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, including “live in same communities” and “a much better choices.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and vary repeated general terms such as “study together.” This would make your argument clearer and more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional sentence (“If they are separated, they might feel nervous…”) and a relative clause (“skills that are highly valuable…”). The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur. For example, “co-educational school prepare” needs subject–verb agreement, while “This exprience build” also requires a singular verb. The opening of the first body paragraph is a fragment because “when they sit…” is separated from the main clause by a full stop. The conclusion contains further agreement and sentence-structure problems. Check each sentence for a complete main clause, then review subject–verb agreement and article use.
