Student answer (Band 6.0)
In various countries worldwide it has been a norm for the female and male children to be taught in the same school environment. However other people tend to think that they should be taught in different institutions.I am of the opinion that they should be in the same institution.
The people with the opinion of the same school agree that the interaction of the two genders ensures that confidence is built when they participate in class and other co-curricular activities. The girls and boys get to understand that there is no superior gender and practice leads to success. For instance encouraging them to compete in athletics and gain resilience in different weather conditions then organising a race would show them that certain activities are not specifically made for one gender. To add on that, subjects such as science, mathematics and humanities and be understood better when they discuss in groups as they challenge each other. The learners may also try to outshine each other in exams and presentations which will devolop the spirit of positive competition and yield better results.
On the other hand, those advocating for each sex to be at their own school have worries which include sexual tension among the children noting that these children may be sexually aroused especially since they are at their teenhood stages.Mostly they are allowed to engage in revision and tutoring unsupervised and may misbehave during these hours. Most of them are in the self discovery stages and would tend to be confused between right and wrong. Some mannerism require one sex to be guided without ridicule or banter from the other gender.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you support educating girls and boys together, and you address both the benefits of mixed schools and concerns raised by supporters of single-sex education. Relevant points include confidence, equal participation, group learning and possible distraction during unsupervised study. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the athletics example does not clearly show how mixed schooling builds resilience, and the concerns about sexual tension and guidance are listed without explaining how common or decisive they are. The response also ends without a concluding paragraph that weighs these arguments and restates your view. Develop fewer points with clearer explanations and examples, and make your final judgement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting mixed schools and a contrasting paragraph presenting concerns about them. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “To add on that” help signal relationships between ideas. Within paragraphs, however, several points are joined in long sequences, so the progression can feel list-like rather than carefully developed. The final paragraph presents the opposing view but does not return to your own position, leaving the essay without a clear sense of closure. Some linking phrases are also mechanical, and spacing after full stops and commas is inconsistent. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and add a concise conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “co-curricular activities,” “resilience,” “positive competition,” and “self discovery.” These choices allow you to discuss both educational benefits and social concerns. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, but some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “female and male children,” “at their teenhood stages,” and “each sex to be at their own school.” “Devolop” is a spelling error, and “mannerism” does not clearly express the idea of personal or sensitive issues that need guidance. Aim for more natural collocations and precise terms, such as “students of both genders,” “during adolescence,” and “single-sex schools.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “that,” “when,” and “which.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation errors reduce control. For example, “subjects such as science, mathematics and humanities and be understood better” has an incorrect verb construction, while “the interaction of the two genders ensures that confidence is built” is awkwardly structured. The opening also runs “environment. However” together, and several sentences contain comma splices or long, loosely connected clauses. Check subject–verb patterns and sentence boundaries, and vary complex structures while keeping each sentence focused. These revisions would make your argument easier to follow.
