Student answer (Band 5.5)

In most part of the world girls and boys are educated together in co-education or mixed schools. While some individuals says that girls and boys have benifits to educate in single-sex school. In my opinion iam totally agreed with and this eassy will give reasons for my opinion.

Separte schools for girls and boys had many benifits, especially for girls.

In separate school for girls is good for their privacy they will be completly safe from any kind of harrasment because in many countries girls in mixed school are being harras. For example last year in our area a girl has been harras by teacher. In some islamic countries education on women are banned because of co-education for example in afghanistan they banned education on women because they think that there is no privacy in co-education.

Separte schools are also benifitial for boys because they can only concentrate on their studies beacuse there are only boys so they can share every type of problem with each other. They can give presentation with confident because when some boys are giving presentation infront of girls they did not give it properly because of pressure. For example my friend is very good in giving presetation but when he give this infront of girls he is shying. Now in many islamic countries education for girls and boys are separate there is separate campus for girls and also for boy in same college.

In conclusion, the eassy illustartes that separate education is good for girls and also for boys as compared to co-education.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear opinion in the introduction and conclusion, supporting separate schooling for both girls and boys. The two body paragraphs offer relevant reasons—privacy and safety for girls, and confidence and concentration for boys—with examples from your area and a friend’s experience. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than fully explained, and the claim about restrictions on girls’ education in Afghanistan needs careful, accurate context. The response is also 248 words, so it falls two words short of the required minimum; the 11 words copied from the prompt are not included in that count. Develop the examples and explain more precisely how single-sex education produces the benefits you claim.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The paragraphs generally keep to one main topic, and phrases such as “For example” help signal supporting details. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences, and the conclusion only repeats the main claim. The repeated opening pattern “Separte schools…” also makes the organisation feel mechanical. Use clearer links between each claim, explanation, and example, and make the final paragraph briefly synthesise the reasons rather than simply restating the position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “privacy,” “harassment,” “concentrate,” “presentation,” and “co-education,” so the main ideas are usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several words are repeated, particularly “separate,” “girls,” and “boys.” Frequent spelling errors—such as “benifits,” “harrasment,” “completly,” and “presetation”—also make the writing less clear and polished. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “education on women are banned” and “give presentation with confident.” Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocations carefully; this would help express your ideas more precisely without changing their meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, including the opening clause beginning “While” and sentences that introduce examples, but most sentences rely on simple patterns, and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “some individuals says” and “they did not give it properly,” while “In separate school for girls is good” has an incomplete sentence structure. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “infront of girls” and “there is separate campus.” These errors recur and sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the intended meaning. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, articles, and sentence boundaries.
