Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favour of co-education. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you mention Finland and Afghanistan as examples, the analysis of these examples is superficial and lacks depth. The argument relies heavily on generalisations rather than nuanced exploration of the benefits or drawbacks. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of 'why' and 'how' your points support your position, rather than simply stating them. The conclusion is also quite repetitive, restating points already made without adding new insight.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'In addition to this', 'Contrary to this', 'To conclude'). Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the jump from discussing Finland to the general concept of gender equality feels disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'sound fruits' (which is an unnatural collocation) and 'under one roof'. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'It literacy has reached at an epic scale' and 'encourage the towards team work'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education and social development, while ensuring that your word choices sound natural in an English context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the developed countries has implemented'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'such states where single-sex schooling is common faces various issues'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing before commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for small errors in articles and prepositions, which will make your writing much more professional and accurate.
