Student answer (Band 6.5)
Co-education is a widely used method of school system which is implemented is several parts of world. It is commonly believed that study in separate schools can be beneficial for students. I am partially agree to this opinion . Although there are few advantages of different schools for opposite genders also there drawbacks of this system.
Firstly, Religion is a main factor, some religions prohibit co-education system. Girls and boys are more comfortable around same gender individuals. However, it is easy to study when they have separate schools. They can give presentations without any hesitation. Management also can build buildings according to their need of one gender occupancy. Students can celebrate different school festivals without any restriction .
On other hands there are drawbacks to study in different schools. After graduation when students face opposite gender in practical life they feel hesitation and lose confidence because they are used to it. Meanwhile , students which studies in co-education system are more confident. Mixed school system provides opportunities to do better understanding and communication between males and females which can be helpful in their future lives. Studying in separate schools can press the sense of equality in genders. For instance one of cousins, has studied in only boys institute, So he has not interacted with girls. Consequently, he is very confused and shy in front of his office girls.
It is concluded that if it is in your religion instructions to study girls and boys , you can follow it . Otherwise, Co-education is perfect for students.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout, acknowledging both sides before concluding. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention religion and comfort as arguments for single-sex schools, and social confidence for co-education, these points are not fully extended. For instance, the example of your cousin is relevant but could be more effectively integrated to support the argument about social development. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is supported by a more detailed explanation or a broader societal perspective rather than relying on personal anecdotes alone.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'However', and 'On other hands' to link your thoughts. However, some of these transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'On other hands' (should be 'On the other hand'). Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used with precision will help the essay read more naturally and improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'co-educational', 'occupancy', and 'interaction'. However, there are instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'press the sense of equality' (perhaps 'suppress the sense of equality') and 'office girls' (which is not standard collocation). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repeating basic terms and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in several parts of world'), subject-verb agreement ('students which studies'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are also slightly fragmented or lack proper punctuation. To progress to a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic errors. Proofreading for common mistakes like pluralisation and verb tense consistency would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
