Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, the girls and boys are educated in the same school but some people argue that there are various advantages of offering separate schools for different genders. I largely agree with this statement and will discuss the reason behind this in the following paragraphs.
Being educated in different schools help students to concentrate towards their studies. In the co-educational schools the girls and boys are allowed to communicate with each other. Further, the regular communication converts into affection and the students end up creating a relationship which divert's their mind from education. As a result, the students are not able to perform well in their academics. So, the single-sex schools helps the students to focus towards their education.
This also helps to improve the environment of educational institutes. Nowadays, boys are indulged in performing negative activities in the schools such as abusing and sexual harassment. The act of separating the educational institutes leads to improved reputation and environment of schools. Moreover, this prevent girls from facing different consequences in the schools and provides them a safe environment to study. For example, nowadays boys usually propose the girls in school and after getting rejected they start spreading negativity against that girl which creates a severe impact on girls mentality and create hurdles in her academic success.
However, studying in a mixed schools helps the students to develop social skills, communication skills and great mindset regarding the society. Apart from that the students are able to make good friends.
To conclude, it can be said that mixed schools helps to develop various skills in the students but it ruins the environment of educational institutes and helps the students to achieve academic success.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed the prompt by clearly stating your position in the introduction and providing supporting arguments for single-sex education. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of single-sex schools regarding focus and safety, the counter-argument regarding social skills is underdeveloped and lacks sufficient explanation. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more thorough exploration of the points raised, perhaps by including more nuanced examples or a deeper analysis of the long-term implications of each educational model. Your position remains clear throughout the essay, which is a positive aspect of your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Further,' 'Moreover,' and 'To conclude,' to link your ideas. However, the transition between the second and third body paragraphs is abrupt, and the final paragraph feels somewhat disconnected from the previous arguments. Some cohesive devices are used in a slightly mechanical way. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas flows more naturally from one sentence to the next, particularly when introducing a counter-argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'co-educational,' 'academic success,' and 'educational institutes.' However, there are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'indulged in performing negative activities' and 'propose the girls.' These phrases sound slightly unnatural in an academic context. To improve, focus on learning more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Expanding your range of synonyms and using more sophisticated phrasing will help you move into a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the single-sex schools helps,' 'mixed schools helps') and incorrect apostrophe usage ('divert's their mind'). Additionally, there are minor errors with articles and prepositions throughout the text. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading your work to catch these basic errors and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
