Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's world, students are key to the development of the nation. Every country wants to improve their education and provide the reliable sources of education. For that some people think that girls' and boys' benefits from being educated separately in single-sex schools which is not an appropriate way to educate students.
From the opinion of people to assume that separate classes for boys and girls could benefit their education performance is reasonable to think but the impacts are totally opposite to the assumptions. Moreover, the separate classes wouldn't change the teaching environment but will damage the communication skills of students. Additionally, they will suffer from more problems. Scientifically, interaction with opposite sex helps to build connection with them and enhance the team works with boys. Without that in the future, he/she will have hard time to communicate with opposite gender and can affect their mental health owing to the absence of girls for his classes. This applies to girls too. For example, Ram has no girls in his school due the lower population in rural areas. After few years later, he moved to urban city like Kathmandu in which he cannot talk properly with girls and had problems making girlfriends and to develop social skills. The example explains the impact Ram has because of the separation from girls in his high schools.
Moreover, additional problems will arise which separating the classes of girls and boys. It's not an effective way to get separate classes in single-sex schools and would not be beneficial to any genders.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against single-sex education. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention communication skills and mental health, the arguments remain somewhat superficial and repetitive. The example of 'Ram' is relevant but lacks the depth required to fully support the argument in an academic context. To improve, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your points, providing more nuanced reasoning rather than stating that the impacts are 'totally opposite' without sufficient evidence. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'For example'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraph is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'they will suffer from more problems', where the antecedent for 'they' is not immediately obvious. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'problems', and 'change'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'provide the reliable sources of education' and 'get separate classes'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or less common lexical items limits the score. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations that sound natural in an English-speaking context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'girls' and boys' benefits from'), article usage (e.g., 'in urban city'), and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'After few years later, he moved'). While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions to improve your accuracy.
