Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 200 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped. The conclusion is also incomplete, consisting only of a phrase, which prevents a proper summary of your argument. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure the essay is fully completed to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a (truncated) conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Addition,' which is not a standard transition. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending of the essay disrupts the overall flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of depth and the incomplete final section. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words correctly and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by fully developed supporting points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision expected at higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'study in same schools for graduations' and 'some boys expert in particular subject'. You rely on simple, repetitive language, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to education and social interaction, and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include missing articles ('in same schools'), subject-verb agreement errors ('Education play vital role'), and incorrect word forms ('There skills' instead of 'Their skills'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced periods and spaces. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors is noticeable and occasionally distracts the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and pronouns before attempting more complex structures.
