Student answer (Band 6.0)
The growing influence of co-education or mixed schools in modern society has sparked various debates. This issue is particularly significant because its impact affects both individuals and communities in multiple ways. In this essay, I will discuss the positive and negative aspects of co-education or mixed schools and their implications for society.
One of the key benefits of co-education is that it promotes innovation, creativity, and access to a wide range of opportunities. This is also evident from the fact that co-education helps in improving understanding, tolerance, and problem-solving methods in society. As shown in various studies, mix schools has had a profound effect on strengthening social harmony and economic growth in many regions. When students get the mixed classes, they understand the problems of subjects easily and get the good numbers in the final exam. Another advantage of co-education is that it is vital for both individual development and collective progress.
However, despite the benefits, co-education can also lead to significant challenges. For example, differences in values and beliefs related to co-education may sometimes lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. Various studies have shown that co-education may create communication barriers and integration issues among different groups. Furthermore, some students share the personal emotions with other students and create the problems for other students during the class, and they do not focus on the lecture properly. Additionally, it can lead to social tensions, which may negatively affect relationships and unity within communities.
In conclusion, co-education provides both significant advantages and notable challenges, and its impact depends on how effectively it is managed in society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but lacks a clear, consistent position. While the introduction mentions discussing both sides, the body paragraphs provide general statements rather than a direct answer to the 'to what extent' question. The arguments regarding 'innovation' and 'social harmony' are somewhat vague and lack specific examples or logical depth. To improve, you should state your opinion clearly in the introduction and ensure each body paragraph directly supports that stance with concrete, well-developed reasoning rather than broad generalizations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Another advantage', 'Furthermore', 'Additionally'). The progression of ideas within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed; for instance, the transition from 'social harmony' to 'getting good numbers in the final exam' lacks a logical link. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You rely on common, repetitive phrasing such as 'get the good numbers' and 'create the problems'. There is an attempt to use academic vocabulary like 'implications' and 'integration', but the overall range is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic terminology relevant to the topic of education, and avoid informal phrasing that sounds like spoken English.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'mix schools has had' (subject-verb agreement), 'get the mixed classes' (inappropriate article usage), and 'share the personal emotions with other students' (awkward phrasing). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would help improve your accuracy.
