Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many regions, the boys and girls are educated together in co-education or mixed schools, while some people contend that both categories should be taught separately and it benefit when students are separated in single-sex schools. In strongly disagree with this view due to lack of co-ordination and interaction among genders.

On the one hand, supporters believe that each gender should be taught separately. This is based on the fact that, students cannot able to learn life lessons of physical safeties, when opposite gender tries to harm in abusive manner. Furthermore, learning separately can help girls to acknowledge about keeping calm and safe during ovulation cycle. If this kind of information shared within both categories than it may be shift into embarrassing moment for female category, especially indian students. A perfect example is an American schools who separates both the categories while teaching sex studies including ovulation cycle and reproduction system, which beneath for individuals to learn more about biology without hesitation. Therefore, this viewpoint is substantial.

On the other hand, I completely disagree with this view. The foremost reason for my position is lack of communication among genders because, If students do not communicate with each other than it may lead difficulties to build relationship in the future. Another contributing factor is demeritial regarding interaction. Furthermore, it backs while working in a group project. For instance, the individuals of russia always face this kind of situations due to separation of schools within the categories. Hence, this are the reasons, I mainly disagree with the view of separation.

In conclusion, every coin has two sides. Althought, it serves some benefits. But, I believe studying together brings strong advantages for society and individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding 'physical safety' and 'ovulation cycles' is a bit tangential and lacks a clear logical link to the broader debate about co-education versus single-sex schooling. While the student attempts to provide examples, such as the mention of American and Russian schools, these are not fully developed or accurately contextualized, which limits the depth of the argument. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on more universally applicable arguments regarding academic performance or social development rather than specific biological or anecdotal claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion,' though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Hence, this are the reasons,' where the pronoun reference is grammatically weak. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by ensuring that each sentence builds more naturally upon the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices or non-standard collocations, such as 'demeritial,' 'physical safeties,' and 'female category.' The student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary, but the phrasing often sounds unnatural. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of flexibility and the presence of errors in word formation prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Expanding the range of academic vocabulary and focusing on correct collocations would significantly improve the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it benefit,' 'this are the reasons'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'students cannot able to learn'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the student attempts complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, the student needs to focus on basic grammatical accuracy and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with correct verb forms and proper syntax.
