Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, education is the most important thing for children because they learn so many thing from each other in schools. Many schools in the world educate both gender boys and girls because they learn different skills from each other. Some people think that there are some advantages of educated children separately in single sex schools. I believe that educate boys and girls together in same school is more beneficial for children.

There are many benefits of educated their children in same school such as they freely communicate with different gender from the small age. Furthermore, if they learn in mix schools they develop their skills not according to only one gender but know about different gender. In addition, nowadays many girls in the world participate in every competition and achieve their goal. For example, many girl play sports like cricket and boxing and they play very well and build their carrier in this sector.

Also it is helpful for children future because at work place they need to communicate with both gender so if they communicate with each other from small age they can easily done task in the future with different gender. Furthermore, in many sector such as dancing and acting people need to work with different gender so if children doing this kind of thing from their school they are able to do better performance.

However, there are some benefits from being educated from the separately schools like children can better focus on their education and compete with same gender in competition such as boxing and cricket. But, educate from mixed schools are more beneficial for children.

In conclusion, although there are some benefits such as children can better focus on their studies. I believe that educated children from mixed schools is more beneficial for children because they learn many skills with each other and communicate easily with different gender from the school.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of co-educational schools. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social benefits and future workplace preparation, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'different skills' is mentioned but not clearly explained. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, well-developed examples or logical reasoning to support your claims. The counter-argument is acknowledged but remains brief, and the overall structure is somewhat simplistic, which limits the depth of the discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore,' 'In addition,' and 'However' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and flow; for example, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. The logical progression is present but could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed central idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple phrases like 'different gender' and 'many benefits.' There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'educated their children in same school' (should be 'educating their children in the same school') and 'easily done task' (should be 'easily complete tasks'). To improve, you should aim to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to education and social development, and work on using collocations more accurately to express your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many girl play'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'if children doing this'), and missing articles (e.g., 'in same school'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not completely impede communication. To achieve a higher score, you need to focus on consistent control of basic grammar and attempt more complex structures with greater accuracy.
