Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that boys and girls should be educated separately in single -sex schools , I completely disagree with this view because co- educational schools help them improve social skills and prepare them for real life situations.
one of the most prominent reasons is the development of social skills like communication and cooperation skills while studying together in mixed schools. learning together in the same environment not only develop their academic skills but also encourage them in field of other soft social skills. girls and boys develop confidence after facing opposite sex in the same field, for example In schools there were different kind of competions that encourage both sex to participate and showcase their skills to each other which is a great way of enhancing social skills.
Furthermore, this also helps them to came across the real life situations because whenever they are going to move forward in their lives they have to face different sex opposite to them, for example when they will work in office their will be seniors or juniors in the work environment with whom they need to communicate regarding work and if they cannot communicate properly then it will affect their work life and disbalance them . Therefore it is important for individuals to attend co- educational schools
To conclude , although it depends on parents that where they want to send their child, it is beneficial for children to study in co- educational schools to enhance their social skills and experience real life situations that are going to happen in future .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have clearly stated your position against single-sex education and maintained it throughout the essay. You provided two main arguments: the development of social skills and preparation for real-life professional environments. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat repetitive and could be further extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis. For instance, the point about 'competitions' is a good start, but explaining how these interactions specifically differ from single-sex environments would strengthen the argument. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'disbalance them' at the end of the second paragraph, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words would help elevate your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'prominent reasons', 'co-educational', and 'showcase'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'facing opposite sex' (should be 'the opposite sex') and 'disbalance them'. You rely on relatively simple vocabulary and could benefit from incorporating more precise, academic collocations to express your ideas with greater sophistication. While your meaning is always clear, the lack of flexibility and occasional inaccuracies limit the score to a 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include missing articles ('in field of', 'in schools'), incorrect verb forms ('helps them to came across'), and punctuation issues (spacing around hyphens and commas). The sentence 'their will be seniors' contains a homophone error ('their' instead of 'there'). To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent use of articles. The current level of control is consistent with a Band 5.5 or 6.0.
