Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the most countries there is co- educational or mixed school system. Majority of people thinks that there are more advantages if girls and boys being educated separately. I agree that there should be co-education in the world and I will give reasons below.
Firstly, in this modern era co-education is almost in every part of the world. Co-education is now become the need of the world. There are lot of advantages of the co-education.
Co-education saves the cost because in the underdeveloped countries there is he shortage of money for the education. Co-education saves the cost of separate building and hiring the new teachers of girls and boys.
It also saves the time in the way that both girls and boys are studying and learning together at the same time. It is more easier for government to manage more students in less time and less budget.
Secondly, after the education there is need of coworkers in every field of life in the world. Girls and boys are working together in the same workplace. Co-education is necessary in this way that in the practical life and in the future the girls and boys will work together.
So, if they are understanding each other from their learning stage, they will be more productive in the co-workplace than the workers who do not grow up in a co-education environment.
In short co-education is more beneficial and more productive. It saves time and money, and it also help students in their practical and future life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of co-education. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic benefits and workplace preparation, these points are not fully extended with specific examples or deeper analysis. The arguments remain at a surface level, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation or a concrete example to support your claims, rather than just stating the advantages.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In short' to signpost your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the transition between ideas feels more natural rather than relying on simple list-like connectors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'saves the cost' and 'in the world'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'co-workplace' and 'learning stage'. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more academic collocations and less common vocabulary that is relevant to the topic of education and social development, while ensuring that your word choices are accurate and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include articles ('In the most countries'), subject-verb agreement ('Majority of people thinks'), and comparative structures ('It is more easier'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. Focus on proofreading your work to catch basic errors in articles, plurals, and comparative forms to improve your accuracy.
