Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often agrued that several individials believes that girls and boys offer advantages from being educated seperately in single-gender schools. while ,some people agree with this view ,I totally disagree with it because it cannot develop mentality and students will not get engage in future with opposite gender.

one of the main reason why i hold with this view that many students nowadays , not talk to opposite gender because of only hesitation. For instance, some people judge if some students talk with opposite gender then that poeple judge them.

Moreover,if people not talk with oppossite gender then they do not understand each other.

Another main reason reason is that people should engage with opposite gender because it create respect and people dont discriminate ,Co education improves communication and social skills. For example, students who study together from a young age may find it easier to work im mixed gender teams later in their carrers.

To conclude with, I firmly believe that girls and boys educated together because it helps to engage with another people. Although some people think that girls and boys benefit from being educated seperately in single-sex schools may be valid to some extent, it does not outweigh the benefits 0f co-educational

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 203 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. While you clearly state your position against single-sex education, the arguments regarding 'mentality' and 'hesitation' are underdeveloped. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific, real-world examples to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a deeper engagement with the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by the lack of depth and some awkward phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'For instance', but they are sometimes applied mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is interrupted by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main argument, followed by well-developed supporting points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'agrued', 'individials', 'seperately', 'oppossite', and 'carrers'. The range of vocabulary is basic, and there is little evidence of less common or academic collocations. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic of education and social development. Avoid repeating the same phrases and focus on using synonyms to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'several individials believes'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'if some students talk with opposite gender then that poeple judge them'). The range of sentence structures is limited, relying mostly on simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
