Student answer (Band 5.5)
The statement says there are differing opinions regarding which form of educational training is most beneficial for girls and boys. While some argue in favor co-educational schoolings, others believe that single-sex schooling is better. I concede that the both forms of education offers some merits in their rights, however, I strongly advocate that the co-educational schooling is far more advantageous to single-sex education for reasons that would be elaborated on in the succeeding paragraphs.
A major advantage of co-education schooling is the ease of adaptation in society pupils have unlike their peers that attended single sex school. Given the fact that co-educational training fosters interaction across gender, graduates from such settings have developed the requisite social skills to survive in any environment that they find themselves. Furthermore, mixed schooling fosters health emotional and psychological upbringing amongst their pupil. This is shown in the health self-confidence and esteem they display in social settings. Unlike those that attended single sex training, they are able to functional optimally even in high social pressure environment.
On the other hand, single-sex education pupils suffer from personality issues due inadequate exposure to the necessary coping environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 190 words long. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is cut off abruptly after the introduction and one body paragraph. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the arguments remain underdeveloped due to the lack of length. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you provide a full conclusion to address all parts of the task. The current response is incomplete, which prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a basic logical structure with an introduction and the start of a body paragraph. However, the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the overall progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'On the other hand', but the limited length means the flow is interrupted. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the coherence of the overall argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and sufficient supporting evidence before moving to the next point.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'requisite social skills', 'psychological upbringing', and 'advantageous'. However, there are several errors in word form and collocation, such as 'health emotional' instead of 'healthy emotional' and 'health self-confidence' instead of 'healthy self-confidence'. Additionally, 'functional optimally' should be 'function optimally'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using word forms correctly and expanding your range of academic collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. For example, 'I concede that the both forms of education offers' contains subject-verb agreement errors and unnecessary articles. 'Inadequate exposure to the necessary coping environment' is a fragment, as the sentence is incomplete. There are also issues with pluralization, such as 'single sex school' instead of 'single-sex schools'. You need to proofread your work to ensure subject-verb agreement and correct sentence completion.
