Student answer (Band 5.0)
In various areas of world, girls and boys are educated under a same roof in co-education or mixed schooling. Some people think there is benefit for teaching both the genders separately in different schools.
I strongly disagree with this point of view. If they are studying together there is great exposure for both boys and girls. They must understand the basic values and moral responsibilities towards both the genders. Because, when both of them study separately, they are not aware of dealing and understanding different aspects of life like sex education, showing empathy to each other, being respectful of different genders.
In addition to this, when the children studies together in same school there will be less awkwardness later on in life. They do not have any kind of fantasies related to opposite sex. There will be equal opportunities for both of girls and boys where they can prove them with fair competition.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 153 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position against single-sex education, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or depth. To achieve a higher band, you must expand on your points—such as the social benefits of co-education—and provide concrete illustrations or evidence to support your claims. The current length prevents a full exploration of the topic, resulting in a fragmented and incomplete response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into three short paragraphs, which provides a basic structure. However, the progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition to this' and 'Because', but the overall flow is somewhat mechanical. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'both of them', which lacks a precise antecedent. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear main idea with supporting sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'great exposure' and 'different aspects of life'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'under a same roof' (should be 'under the same roof') and 'prove them' (should be 'prove themselves'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations related to education and social development to demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'In various areas of world' (missing article), 'when the children studies' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'both of girls and boys' (incorrect preposition usage). While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors in basic grammar and punctuation limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and sentence variety will help you improve your accuracy and range.
