Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is undeniable that, discrimination on the basis of race, caste or sex are pensive concern in this economy. In this regards, in many parts of the different countries girls and boys are educated together in co-educational or mixed schools while some individuals believe that both girls and boys must be educated differently and separately which is more beneficial in single-sex schools. I agree to a large extent with this notion due to many reasons which will be outlined in forthcoming fragments with a logical conclusion.
To commence with, there are several positive reasons in educating the students together in co-educational schools. Firstly, it will help the students to cope up with each other more frequently and beneficially and may ask each other and talk to each other without any hesitation or nervousness. Secondly, it creates a real-life skills among students. For example, by talking and sharing views and doubts with each other helps them to endure with real life situations and may learn frequently better as they may get different point of views from both the sides with a logical reasons for their answers. However, studying together in same class will help the students to face challenges out of the academic campus or sessions too, moreover studying in the same co-educational schools will cope up the students to respect each other manage their own behavior for each other. These schools provide proper safety actions for girls so that they may feel safe and can study without any difficulties.
Nevertheless, there are many drawbacks as if students will study together in mixed or co-educational schools it may face some changes in the behavior of some students and may not respect each other and may provide some disturbance or distractions to other students. However, in some backward areas some parents do not allow their girls specially to study in same schools with boys due to their thinking of mind and different point of view as they may not face any harassment and may feel safe. However gaining education in single-sex schools has both pros and cons. For instance, according to research in Japan in the past, it was announced that women are good at performing linguistic ability rather than men whereas male individuals tend to carry out mathematics better than female people. Hence, if they study together, it would be more significantly helpful each other. As a result, several schools where accommodates single-sex have been converted into mixed schools.
To conclude, single-sex schools may help with short-term test scores, but mixed schools prepare students better for life. Education is more than high marks; it teaches children how to live and work in a real community.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt, but the position is inconsistent. You state you agree with single-sex education, yet the majority of your essay focuses on the benefits of co-education. This creates confusion regarding your stance. While you provide some relevant ideas, the development is often repetitive and lacks depth. For example, the argument about 'real-life skills' is mentioned but not fully explored with specific, convincing examples. To improve, ensure your main body paragraphs directly support your thesis statement and avoid contradictory arguments that undermine your position. The conclusion is clear, but the preceding body paragraphs need more focused argumentation to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by the contradictory content. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Nevertheless', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately. For instance, the transition 'However' is used to introduce points that do not always contrast with the previous sentence. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the third paragraph where the link between the Japan research and the conclusion about mixed schools is disjointed. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a single, clear focus will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, but there are frequent inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. Phrases like 'pensive concern in this economy' and 'endure with real life situations' are unnatural and do not convey the intended meaning accurately. You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but the lack of precision often impedes the clarity of your arguments. To reach a higher band, focus on learning how words are used in context (collocations) rather than just using complex-sounding words. Reviewing common academic phrases and practicing their usage will help you achieve more natural and precise expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'discrimination... are pensive concern'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'cope up the students to respect each other'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences that lack necessary commas or conjunctions. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage.
