Student answer (Band 6.0)
Educating girls and boys in mixed schools or in single-sex schools have been a debatable topic as children study in co-educational institutions across the globe yet few people argue that separate education is more beneficial. I do not agree with the argument and reasons are stated before valid conclusion.
Educating both the genders together have endless merits like children learn to co-operate with each other by handling various types of tasks and assignments which allow them to create a tone of respect among opposite gender. Also, integrated schools with both the genders help the pupils to gain knowledge about biological behaviors and differences about each other which exceptionally help them in the future to live happily and accordingly. In addition, these type of schools help to eliminate gender discrimination in the society which is essential in today's world.
However, people who are against this notion have their own views and beliefs such as cultural allowances, as in many cultures and religions it is believed that it is better not for opposite genders to live or study together in young and teen ages and old people with ancient thoughts find it uncomfortable for their children to get along with opposite gender due to which they are against the fact of children studying together in institutions in this modern era.
I certainly believe that there is no such bad omen in educating girls and boys together and people must treat both the genders equally and face the positive reality by encouraging integrated schools and eliminating gender discrimination.
To conclude, although there are few points that favour the latter view point but former point clearly indicates signs of positive development according to the aforementioned points which completely outlook the latter argument.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention benefits like cooperation and reducing discrimination, these points are not fully extended with specific examples or deeper analysis. The introduction is slightly awkward, stating 'reasons are stated before valid conclusion' rather than outlining your main arguments. To reach a higher band, ensure each body paragraph provides a concrete example or a more detailed explanation of the 'why' behind your claims. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a strong summary of the main points discussed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition', 'However', and 'To conclude', which help the flow. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'which completely outlook the latter argument'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved by ensuring each sentence builds logically on the previous one rather than just listing points.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'both the genders' and 'opposite gender', which appears multiple times. There are also some slightly unnatural collocations, such as 'bad omen' in the context of co-education and 'cultural allowances'. While the meaning is always clear, the vocabulary does not demonstrate a high level of sophistication or flexibility. Expanding your range of synonyms and learning more precise collocations would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while not impeding communication, are noticeable. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Educating... have been', 'both the genders together have'), incorrect article usage ('in the society'), and awkward phrasing ('these type of schools'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are overly long and could be broken up for better clarity. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles and pluralization.
